Dr Catherine McCarthy

Dr Catherine McCarthy did her medical training at the University of Cape Town and completed her radiology training in Oxford. She undertook a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford where she currently works as a specialist Musculoskeletal Radiologist with expertise in ultrasound, MRI, CT and image-guided interventional procedures.

Her practice includes imaging of rheumatological diseases, sports injuries, trauma, bone infection, bone and soft tissue tumours, complex orthopaedic conditions and spinal disorders. She regularly images elite athletes and has specific expertise in ultrasound guided interventional procedures. Dr McCarthy is a committed teacher involved in conference organisation, lecturing, curriculum development and hands-on teaching in musculoskeletal ultrasound.
