Eugene McNally FRCR

I trained at University College Dublin, Northwick Park and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore. My main clinical interests are the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries, the early diagnosis of joint disease and the application of ultrasound to rheumatologic and orthopaedic disorders. I have held visiting Professorships to several countries including Australia (on four occasions), North America and Japan. I teach on the European Erasmus and ESMRMB School of MRI programs, has been invited speaker each year over the last 15 years to both the European and International Skeletal Societies, invitied speaker at the International Society of MRI in Medicine on three occasions and Keynote speaker at the principal radiological congress in the world, the RSNA, on two occasions.

I have published many papers in the medical literature, in areas including the role of MRI in Spinal conditions, MRI and Ultrasound in sports and rheumatology and on image guided injection procedures in the spine and joints.I have also published numerous abstracts and book chapters and am regularly asked to peer review articles for national and international journals. I am the author of one of the major textbooks in musculoskeletal ultrasound that has been published in eight languages. I have given over three hundred national and international lectures and workshops during the past ten years. I was a member of the organisation committee for imaging at London 2012 Olympic Games. I am a member of the European and International Skeletal Societies where I have held various committee positions including a founder member of the Ultrasound committee, the Sports Imaging and Rheumatology committees.

I am a past President of the British Society of Skeletal Radiology the inaugural Royal College and BSSR Professor of MSK Radiology and the Vice President of the European Society of Skeletal radiology (President Elect 2020).
