Your MRI. What to Expect
On arrival you will be greeted at Reception. The Radiographic helper will fully explain the procedure to you. There is no specific preparation and you can eat and drink normally. It is best to dress in comfortable clothes, free of metal although we can also provide a gown if necessary. Tand locked cubicles for your valuables and other belongings.
When ready, you will be asked to lie on the MRI scanner table. You will be made comfortable and given the option to listen to your choice of music. Bring a CD with you if you like !
The radiographers will be in contact with you at all times. Patients who are anxious or claustrophobic should feel reassured. We have a lot of experience.
The scan will take from 20 minutes to an hour, depending on the number of images we need to take. After the examination you are free to go. Your images will be read by one of our expert Radiologists and the results sent to your doctor.
